RIP KERRY : John Dineen Obituary – Dingle, County Kerry

The passing of John Dineen has left a deep sadness in the hearts of his family and many friends. John, who was born in Dingle, County Kerry, and later lived in Blackrock, Dublin, died peacefully on Sunday, 28th June 2026, after a short illness, while receiving excellent care at St. Vincent’s University Hospital.

A retired member of An Garda Síochána, John was known for his dedication and warm personality. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, from his days on Main Street in Dingle to his life in the Dublin area. His strong connections to Kerry remained an important part of who he was.

John is survived by his beloved wife Geraldine (née O’Sullivan), his sisters Josephine and Marguerite, and the wider Dineen and O’Sullivan families. He will also be remembered fondly by his former colleagues in the Garda Síochána, his neighbours, and his wide circle of friends.

Funeral Details

John will repose at Massey Bros. Funeral Home, 5 Newtown Park, Blackrock, on Tuesday, 30th June from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. On Wednesday morning, 1st July, he will be removed to the Church of the Assumption, Booterstown Avenue, arriving for 11.00am Requiem Mass. This will be followed by a private cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium. The Requiem Mass will be available to view online for those unable to attend in person. Family flowers only, please.
