It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shay (James) Farrell, Kilcock, Kildare, and formerly of Drimnagh, Dublin 12. Shay departed this life peacefully on February 19th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff at St. James’s Hospital.
Shay was the beloved husband and best friend of Edel, deeply loved dad of Sean, Steven, and Kellen, and cherished son of Shay and Ellen. His passing leaves a great void in the lives of his loving family, including his parents, brothers Keith and Bernard, brother-in-law Joey, sisters-in-law Lisa, Nicola, and Michelle, godmother Mary, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbours.
Shay’s family and friends will deeply miss his love, kindness, and generosity. His legacy of devotion and care will continue to inspire and guide us.
Funeral Arrangement of Shay(James) Farrell
Reposing at his residence on Sunday evening, February 23rd, between 5 pm and 7 pm, Shay’s remains will be removed on Tuesday morning, February 25th, to St. Patrick’s Church, Celbridge, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11:30 am, followed by burial in Newlands Cross Cemetery.
