It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lily Birch (née Meighan), Castlegar, Ahascragh, Galway, formerly of Ballinasloe and Kilkenny. Lily departed this life peacefully in her 99th year, surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at Garbally View Nursing Home.
Lily was predeceased by her husband Paddy, grandson Phelim, brothers, and sisters. She will be deeply regretted by her loving family, son Martin, daughters Teresa (Coughlan) and Mary (Goode), daughter-in-law Anne, sons-in-law Mike and Paddy, adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Anne Conroy, brother Paddy Meighan, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbors, and friends.
Lily’s family and friends will deeply miss her love, kindness, and generosity. Her legacy of devotion and care will continue to inspire and guide us.
Funeral Arrangement of Lily Birch (née Meighan)
Reposing at Grenham’s Funeral Home, Ballinasloe, on Monday, February 24th, from 5 pm to 7 pm, with removal to her residence afterwards. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 25th, at 12 noon in St. Cuan’s Church, Ahascragh, with burial afterwards in Ahascragh New Cemetery.
