It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ben Lyons, St. Bridget’s, Monivea, Athenry, and formerly of Lenamore, Colemanstown. Ben departed this life peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Flannery’s Nursing Home, in his 99th year.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary, parents Patrick and Margaret, brother John, and sisters May (Jennings) and Della (Greaney), Ben will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, brother-in-law Jackie Moreton, relatives, neighbours, and friends.
Ben’s life was a testament to his kind and gentle soul. His dedication to his family, community, and faith was evident in all that he did. As we bid our final farewell to Ben, we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Funeral Arrangements of Ben Lyons
Reposing in Quinn’s Funeral Home, Athenry, on Wednesday, January 22nd, from 5 pm, with removal at 6:30 pm to the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Newcastle, Athenry. Requiem Mass for Ben will take place on Thursday, January 23rd, at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in Templemoyle Cemetery, Newcastle.
