It is with heavy hearts that we remember Con (Eugene) Griffin, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 7th July 2026, in the loving care of his family and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry. Con, from Knocklyne, Killorglin, Kerry, lived a life centred on family and community.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Con found deep joy in his relationships. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen (née Dodd). The family he built and cherished will hold his memory close, drawing comfort from the time they shared together.
Con will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Owen and Debbie, his daughter Elaine and Dave, his daughter Lynda and Yves, his dearly loved grandchildren Luke, Lauren, Caitlin, David, Connor and Fia-Will, his partner Nora, along with all his relatives, neighbours and many friends in the Killorglin area.
Funeral Details
Con (Eugene) Griffin will be reposing at Flynn’s Funeral Home, Killorglin, on Thursday evening, 9th July, from 5pm to 7pm. The funeral will arrive on Friday morning, 10th July, to St. James’ Church, Killorglin, for Requiem Mass at 10.30am, which will be live streamed. Burial will follow in Dromavalla Cemetery. Family flowers only, with donations if desired to Palliative Care at University Hospital Kerry.

His quiet strength and the love he gave so freely will live on in the stories told by those who knew him best. In Killorglin and beyond, Con leaves behind a legacy of family devotion.
