The passing of Joseph Downes of Clondalkin, Dublin, has brought great sorrow to his family and friends. Joseph died peacefully on Monday, 29th June 2026, surrounded by his loving family while receiving wonderful care at the Mary Mount Unit in Our Lady’s Hospice.
Joseph was a beloved husband and devoted father who will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He shared a long and happy life with his late wife Patricia and remained a central figure in his large, close-knit family in the Clondalkin area.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia. Joseph is survived by his children Stiabh, Mary, Jody, Andrew, Paul, Gareth and Karl, his daughters-in-law Lorraine, Nuala and Emma, his son-in-law Kevin, his seven adored grandchildren, his brothers-in-law Gerard and John, his sister-in-law Melissa, and his extended family and friends.
Funeral Details
Joseph will repose at Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Clondalkin Village, on Wednesday, 1st July between 2pm and 4pm. He will be removed to The Presentation of Our Lord Church, Knockmitten, in time for Requiem Mass on Thursday, 2nd July at 11am, followed by cremation at Newlands Cross Crematorium. Both the Mass and cremation service will be available to view live online.
