It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Bruen, renowned writer and creator of the iconic Jack Taylor series. Ken departed this life on March 29th, 2025, at University Hospital Galway.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Paddy and Inez, brothers Noel and Declan, and sister Jess. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Philomena, and daughter, Grace, as well as his relatives, neighbors, dedicated readers, and countless friends.
May Ken’s kind and gentle soul rest in peace.
Reposing in Irwin’s Funeral Home, Bóthar Irwin (H91 CK84), on Wednesday, April 2nd, from 5:30 pm. Removal at 7:30 pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Forster Street. Ken’s Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday, April 3rd, at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to The New Cemetery, Bohermore.
