It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Rabbitte (née Day), “Orville”, New Avenue, Rahoon Road, Galway City, and formerly of Barnett Street, The Strand, Athlone, Co. Westmeath. Mary departed this life peacefully on Thursday, February 20th, in her 74th year, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was pre-deceased by her loving parents Thomas and Bridget Day. Her passing leaves a great void in the lives of her loving husband Paul, children Majella and Paul Jnr., sister Annie, son-in-law Danny, much-loved grandchildren Freya, Conan, Odin, and Elva, sister-in-law Ann, brothers-in-law Dermot, Edwin, and the late Gerard, godchildren Michelle and Yvonne, extended family, beautiful friends, and neighbours.
Mary’s family and friends will deeply miss her love, kindness, and generosity. Her legacy of devotion and care will continue to inspire and guide us.

Funeral Arrangement of Mary Rabbitte (née Day)
Reposing in Conneely’s Funeral Home, Flood Street, Galway, on Sunday, February 23rd, from 4 pm to 6 pm, Mary’s funeral cortège will leave from her residence on Monday, February 24th, at 10:30 am to walk to The Sacred Heart Church, Seamus Quirke Road, Galway, for Requiem Mass at 11 am. After Mass, the funeral will proceed to Rahoon Cemetery, where Mary will be laid to rest.
