It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Philomena Barrett (née Browne), The Square, Mountbellew, Galway. Philomena departed this life peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Philomena was predeceased by her husband P.V. Her passing leaves a great void in the lives of her loving family, including her daughter Marian (Daly), sons Iomar, Vincent, and Brian, son-in-law Tom Daly, daughters-in-law Bernadette, Carmel, and Elaine, grandchildren Iomar óg, Sheenagh, Ornagh, Daragh, Jill, Sarah, Oliver, Eva, Brian, Matthew, Andrew, and Joshua, and her nine great-grandchildren.
Philomena’s family and friends will deeply miss her love, kindness, and generosity. Her legacy of devotion and care will continue to inspire and guide us. Special mention is made of her friend and wonderful carer Geraldine White, who provided exceptional care and support.
Funeral Arrangement of Philomena Barrett (née Browne)
Reposing at Franciscan College Oratory, Mountbellew, on Sunday evening, February 23rd, from 5 pm, with removal at 7 pm to St. Mary’s Church, Mountbellew. Requiem Mass will be held on Monday, February 24th, at 11:00 am, followed by burial in New Cemetery, Mountbellew (Tuam Road).
