
Stephen (Steve) Rowe of Kenmare, Kerry, and Rathfarnham, Dublin, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, 27th June 2026, with his loving family by his side. A former Bank of Ireland man, Steve was known for his compassion, kindness, and wonderful sense of humour that brightened the lives of those around him.
He was a devoted husband to his late wife Clare, and a loving father whose family meant everything to him. Steve is survived by his daughters Deirdre, Imelda and Eva, his brother Bernard, his grandchildren Stephen and Daniel, son-in-law Nick, sisters-in-law Nancy and Bridget, brother-in-law Fr. Paschal, nieces, nephews, neighbours, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his darling wife Clare, daughter Cathy, parents Stephen and Eva, and brother Edward.
Steve’s family are deeply grateful for the care provided by the Harold’s Cross Hospice Home Care team, which allowed him to remain at home, as well as the support from doctors at the Mater Hospital, Dodder Park Medical, An Neidín Family Practice in Kenmare, and HSE Ballyboden.
His connections to Kenmare remained strong throughout his life, and he will be remembered fondly by the community there and in Dublin for his warmth and steadfast presence.

Though his passing leaves a great emptiness in the hearts of his family and friends, Steve’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through them.
