John O’Brien’s soul left her loving family and beautiful building, everything and went to the heaven.He merged with God.His beautiful soul, who was always ahead and ready for the welfare of the people.

He went away to such a place from where none comes back again. He will always be remembered in the minds of the people for his good thoughts, fine behaviour and soft nature etc.

He passed away on 25th January 2024 Thursday in the present of his loving family and friends and in the tender care of the staff at Farranlea Community Nursing Unit, John (SNR), Riverbank, Curraheen Estate, Bishopstown and late of John O’Brien and sons,Men’s outfitters,Shandon Street, Exchange Bar,Dominick Street and Castlemaine,Co.Kerry.

He was a dearly beloved husband and best friend of Eileen ((nee Geoghegan) of 59 years and much loved father of Bill, Catherine (McCarthy), Brian, John and Paul, He was the dearest brother of Thady, Dan and the late Joan, Willie and his twin Morgan.

John O’Brien also sadly missed by his heartbroken wife

family, grandchildren Roy, Emma, Eoin, Grace, Daire, Cillian, Angel, Seán, Iseult, Liadain and Siomha and great grandson Alex, son-in-law Dave, daughters-in-law and partners Paula, Neasa, Danielle and Maureen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours his dearest friends.

Funeral rites

His mortal body reposing at the family home at Riverbank (Eircode T12 PP9X) from 4.00pm to 6.00pm on Saturday (27th January). Requiem Mass on Monday (29th January) at 11.00am in the Church of the Real Presence, Curraheen (Eircode T12 XR99).
