John (Sean) Shine of Clounafineela, Kilflynn, Co. Kerry, and formerly of Castleconnell, Co. Limerick and Santry, Dublin, passed away peacefully on Friday, 30th October 2026. He died in the loving care of the staff at Riverside Nursing Home, Abbeydorney. Late of An Post, Sean’s quiet presence will be missed by those who knew him across these places.
He was the beloved husband of the late Joan. Sean will be fondly remembered by his relatives, neighbours and friends. The steady kindness he brought to everyday life leaves a gentle mark on the communities he called home over the years.
Funeral Arrangements
Funeral arrangements begin with reposing in the Day Chapel at St. Bernard’s Church, Abbeydorney, on Monday evening, 2nd November, from 6pm to 7pm. The funeral will arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Kilflynn, on Tuesday at 1.15pm. Requiem Mass for John (Sean) will be celebrated at 1.30pm and will be livestreamed. Interment will follow afterwards in Kilflynn new cemetery.
